Hand Painted Dining Room Furniture

Hand Painted Dining Room Furniture – Ripon, North Yorkshire For this hand painted furniture project I was asked by the client to update her cream dining room furniture to compliment her new curtains. The colours in the curtains were a mixture of sage green and silver so I re-painted the pieces with a subtle sage green dragging effect and then highlighted the lovely detailing with a silver gilt wax.   Lee is a member of Traditional Painter UK and the chosen furniture and kitchen painting specialist for the whole of the Yorkshire region. Hand Painted Childrens Furniture

Hand Painted Bedside Cabinets – Bardsey, West Yorkshire These painted bed side cabinets were part of child’s nursery in which I painted a magical flower fairies mural. The theme ran around the whole room and was at ‘baby height’ so the little girl could enjoy it at her level. Over the years this room has turned out to be one of the most popular ones I’ve ever done. Hand Painted Children’s Bed – Barnsley, South Yorkshire Originally pine, this children’s bed and was painted to become a feature in a little girl’s bedroom. I painted it with a brush mark...

Hand Painted ‘Antiqued’ Furniture

Hand Painted Antiqued Washstand – Oare, Devon The first two pictures show a antiqued washstand that I hand painted and which took pride of place in the homes main en-suite bathroom. Originally white, it was re-painted cream and then antiqued with a raw umber glaze. The beauty of an ‘antiquing’ paint finish is that it enhances any moulded or carved area, giving it depth and making it into even more of a feature. Hand Painted Distressed and Antiqued Wardrobes – Nr. Blubberhouses, North Yorkshire The next two pictures show a hand painted furniture project that was commissioned by a...

Hand Painted  Distressed Table & Chairs – Harrogate, North Yorkshire The first three pics show a hand painted distressed kitchen furniture project I had where I distressed and hand painted some old pine furniture. The client loved bright colours and chose turquoise to really give her dining room that wow factor. After painting on the turquoise the furniture was distressed and then treated with a darker turquoise glaze to add even more richness of colour. The table top was also painted with some individually designed swirly flower motifs. With all the colours and detailing this project...

Painted Fitted Wardrobes

Hand Painted Fitted Wardrobes – Knayton, Nr. Thirsk, North Yorkshire This furniture painting project was for the same clients who had commissioned me earlier in the year to paint their ‘pippy or pipped’ oak kitchen. These fitted wardrobes were also beautifully made but the central panels were cracking and they were so dark they completely dominated the room. Refurbishing them with a hand painted finish was the perfect solution as it would create the minimum of disruption, be far more cost effective and also avoid any knock on effects like a new carpet and re-painting the...
