Kitchen Repaint

Kitchen Repaint – Ripon, North Yorkshire This kitchen was already painted but was looking tired and worn in places. I rejuvenated all the units by hand painting them with a brush mark free, plain colour finish. To get the best finish I first cleaned and lightly sanded the units before applying a specialist high adhesion primer. I find it best to always prime a pre-painted kitchen again as that way I know all the products I’m using will work with those used originally in the factory. I then applied two coats of hard wearing oil based paint using a combination of foam rollers and soft...

Hand Painted Shabby Chic Kitchen

Hand Painted Shabby Chic Kitchen – Ripon, North Yorkshire For this hand painted kitchen the client wanted the units to end up looking aged and antiqued – that real ‘shabby chic’ country kitchen look. To achieve the right effect the top cupboards and island were hand painted in block colour and then lightly antiqued with a subtle glaze. The bottom units, which were left unpainted, were heavily distressed, stained and then waxed to give them an authentic old oak look.   Lee is a member of Traditional Painter UK and their chosen kitchen and furniture painting specialist for...

Dark Grey Painted Kitchen Units

Dark Grey Painted Kitchen Units – Ilkley, West Yorkshire I painted these kitchen units for a couple living in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The client had a real vision of how she wanted her kitchen to look and from the outset had her heart set on a deep charcoal colour. Last year, light to mid greys were the fashionable choice for hand painted kitchens. In 2018 it’s a turn towards the dark side, with interior magazines showcasing dark blue, dark grey and black colour schemes. The colour chosen for this particular kitchen was Farrow & Balls ‘Railings’, which I had...

Painted Oak Kitchen Units

Painted Oak Kitchen Units, Collingham, West Yorkshire ‘We were extremely impressed with Lee’s work repainting our old kitchen units. He was extremely professional and efficient throughout from the initial consultation to the final finished product, which has completely transformed out kitchen. In addition to the exceptionally good finish (which looks as it it was put on as the kitchen was built) he offered valued advice about scheduling other work, colour choices, slight amendments to the units, trim and handles. His attention to detail was exceptional, noting (for example) that the...
