Faux Marble Walls – Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
Located in the Victorian Gallery of the Sunderland Museum, the area below the dado rail was faux marbled in black, charcoal and white. The edges of dado and skirting board were also highlighted in places using an antique gold gilt wax. Faux painted marble is a fantastic way of adding a bit of decadence to a room, something the Victorians understood only too well.
