Originally very tired looking pine, this cabinet was transformed by painting it in an ‘off white’ colour before giving it a lightly distressing and antiqued finish.

The end result is a flawless finish that is extremely hard wearing and cannot be bought in the shops.

This beautiful dining room furniture was painted with a subtle dragged effect, with certain areas being ‘highlighted’ with silver gilt wax for additional interest.

The paint was layered on to give a slight texture before a layer of antique glaze was added. The glaze was then rubbed off so it only sat in certain areas. This created a wonderful wall finish that harmonised beautifully with the other decorative features in the room.

The walls were also painted with randomly spaced pearlescent stripes, bringing another dimension to the room and making the walls really sparkle in candle light.

For this project the clients were redesigning their office and wanted their fitted cream furniture to look like real wood. The panels were painted to look like burr walnut whist the frame and was done to look like oak. Whilst I was taking photographs of the finished piece, a family friend walked in and asked if I was the joiner who had made it! Now that’s the kind of comment that really makes my day!

The clients wanted something whimsical and fun that reminded them of their honeymoon in the Seychelles. With this in mind I came up with the idea of creating the illusion of the wallpaper having been ripped away to reveal the view from their hotel at sunset.

This magical ‘Cars’ mural was painted in a boy’s attic bedroom. The theme itself came form the ‘Lightening McQueen’ bed which had already been ordered.

With the bed in the middle, I made it look as if it was racing the ‘Chick’ and ‘The King’ whilst the other main characters and crowd looked on excitedly from the sidelines.
