This small but perfectly formed oak kitchen was a lovely project to do, and after being hand painted, had quite a transformation!

The client contacted me wanting to find out more about refurbishing her kitchen by having it hand painted. Although lovely quality, the look had become dated and the oak was beginning to take on a distinctly orange hue. I explained that a quality hand painted finish was the perfect solution and was guaranteed to make it feel lighter, brighter and look much more contemporary.

After an initial consultation and sample testing, the colour chosen was Farrow & Ball’s ‘Mizzle’, a beautiful sage green and one of my favourite colours. Although I favour a specialist paint from Finland, the company I get much of my paint from, Holmans Paints, can accurately tint the equivalent to any colour, so a great ‘Mizzle match’ was assured. With stages and drying times the on-site work took 5 days to complete, the doors and drawers were hung soon thereafter, having been prepared and painted in my workshop. A hassle free refurbishment of a lovely kitchen for a fraction of the price of replacing it for the same quality.
