Kitchen Repaint

Project details - Kitchen Repaint

Kitchen Repaint – Ripon, North Yorkshire

This kitchen was already painted but was looking tired and worn in places. I rejuvenated all the units by hand painting them with a brush mark free, plain colour finish. To get the best finish I first cleaned and lightly sanded the units before applying a specialist high adhesion primer. I find it best to always prime a pre-painted kitchen again as that way I know all the products I’m using will work with those used originally in the factory. I then applied two coats of hard wearing oil based paint using a combination of foam rollers and soft ‘laying off’ brushes. The finish is smooth, has no brush marks and really brought this kitchen back to life. Alongside hand painting this kitchen I also hand painted the clients dining room furniture – giving it a subtly dragged effect with silver gilt highlights.
