Faux Marble Paint Effect Bath

Faux Marble Paint Effect Bath – Harrogate, North Yorkshire For this faux marble paint effect project I painted the outside of a roll top bath to match the real travertine floor beneath. The travertine effect is subtle and only has a few veins so as not to jar with the real travertine below. The walls were also painted with a pearlescent stripe paint effect which sparkles in candle light and really bring another dimension to the room. “Thank you very much for making such an excellent job of marbling my roll-top bath, definitely worth every single penny!!! Trompe L’oeil Niche

Trompe L’oeil Niche – Harrogate, North Yorkshire This hand painted trompe l’oeil niche was commissioned by Garth Antiques in Harrogate to spruce up their shop doors and create some visual trickery. There were many a stage to this marble effect project, from thorough cleaning, sanding and filling to base painting and the creation of the marble paint...

Faux Marble Paint Effect Walls

Faux Marble Paint Effect Walls – Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens For this faux marble commission I was contacted by the curator of the ‘Fine Art’ Exhibit in the Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens. They were updating the rooms and wanted to create a realistic painted marble effect below the dado rail. Hand painted marble effects were very fashionable in the nineteenth and early twentieth Century’s, and as this part of the museum houses predominately Victorian paintings it seemed very fitting to create a faux finish that was in keeping with the trends of the day....
