Kitchen Repaint

Kitchen Repaint – Ripon, North Yorkshire This kitchen was already painted but was looking tired and worn in places. I rejuvenated all the units by hand painting them with a brush mark free, plain colour finish. To get the best finish I first cleaned and lightly sanded the units before applying a specialist high adhesion primer. I find it best to always prime a pre-painted kitchen again as that way I know all the products I’m using will work with those used originally in the factory. I then applied two coats of hard wearing oil based paint using a combination of foam rollers and soft...

Hand Painted Shabby Chic Kitchen

Hand Painted Shabby Chic Kitchen – Ripon, North Yorkshire For this hand painted kitchen the client wanted the units to end up looking aged and antiqued – that real ‘shabby chic’ country kitchen look. To achieve the right effect the top cupboards and island were hand painted in block colour and then lightly antiqued with a subtle glaze. The bottom units, which were left unpainted, were heavily distressed, stained and then waxed to give them an authentic old oak look.   Lee is a member of Traditional Painter UK and their chosen kitchen and furniture painting specialist...

Hand Painted Kitchen with Paint Effect

Hand Painted Kitchen with Paint Effect – Rawdon, Leeds I undertook this wonderful hand painted kitchen project in a truly unique house in Rawdon, Leeds. A converted chapel, the house retains many of its original features, from stone archways and wooden slatted ceilings, to corbels and hidden niches. The kitchen too was a one off, bespoke, handmade and pretty Gothic in design. The clients contacted me wanting to update their kitchen as the original colour was looking distinctly yellow and had also darkened with age. This was in large part to an inferior varnish having been applied...

Kitchen Repainting

Kitchen Repainting – West Ella, Hull As a specialist kitchen painter I work throughout most of Yorkshire. For this particular kitchen re-paint I traveled to beautiful house in West Ella, just outside Hull. The scale of this project was pretty large, not only due to the size of the kitchen and all the lovely detailing, but also due to the vast amounts of preparation required. My clients had inherited the kitchen when they bought the house a number of years ago and unfortunately had inherited its paint finish too. It was actually the worst finish I have ever seen on a kitchen. It looked...
