Kitchen Repaint

Kitchen Repaint – Ripon, North Yorkshire This kitchen was already painted but was looking tired and worn in places. I rejuvenated all the units by hand painting them with a brush mark free, plain colour finish. To get the best finish I first cleaned and lightly sanded the units before applying a specialist high adhesion primer. I find it best to always prime a pre-painted kitchen again as that way I know all the products I’m using will work with those used originally in the factory. I then applied two coats of hard wearing oil based paint using a combination of foam rollers and soft...

Hand Painted Shabby Chic Kitchen

Hand Painted Shabby Chic Kitchen – Ripon, North Yorkshire For this hand painted kitchen the client wanted the units to end up looking aged and antiqued – that real ‘shabby chic’ country kitchen look. To achieve the right effect the top cupboards and island were hand painted in block colour and then lightly antiqued with a subtle glaze. The bottom units, which were left unpainted, were heavily distressed, stained and then waxed to give them an authentic old oak look.   Lee is a member of Traditional Painter UK and their chosen kitchen and furniture painting specialist...

Hand Painted Kitchen – Barkisland, Halifax This kitchen painting project was undertaken in one of the beautiful Barkisland Mill apartments near Halifax. The kitchen itself was laminate, with the door design being ‘Shaker’ style. With it’s simple, elegant design and smooth laminate surface, the painted finish needed to be perfectly smooth as any brush marks or...

Hand Painted Kitchen Harrogate

Hand Painted Kitchen Harrogate

Hand Painted Kitchen Harrogate, North Yorkshire This painted kitchen project was commissioned by a couple living on the outskirts of my hometown, Harrogate. The kitchen had been installed by the previous owners and was made by Charles Yorke. The quality of this oak kitchen was undeniable but with tastes changing and the oak beginning to turn ‘orange’, the clients felt it looked dark and dated and wanted a change. To replace a kitchen with one of the same quality would have cost many 10’s of thousands of pounds, so the clients hit upon the idea of having it hand painted....
