Hand Painted Kitchen Island Calderdale

Hand Painted Kitchen Island with ‘Aged’ Paint Effect Calderdale This hand painted kitchen island was commissioned by a lovely young couple in Triangle, Calderdale. They had bought an old lakeside house and were in the midst of completely renovating it. Their aim was to maintain as much of the original features as possible and design and decorate the new space in sympathy with the original building and its surroundings. There was a lot going on and much of it was bespoke work requiring a range of expert craftsmen. They had recently installed a new bespoke kitchen and wanted to...

Kitchen Repaint with Painted Tiles

Kitchen Repaint with Painted Tiles This kitchen repaint project was undertaken in a private house in Goldsborough, near York. The clients wanted to update the look of their kitchen by repainting the units in a more contemporary colour. During the consultation we looked at new colours for the units and also for the walls, deciding on the ‘French Grey’ range from The Little Greene Company. Hand Painted Pine Kitchen York

Hand Painted Pine Kitchen York For this hand painted pine kitchen project I headed over to Moor Monkton near York. The kitchen had been hand made by ‘Jeremy Wood’ quite a number of years ago and the clients were keen to update it and repair a few areas that had been damaged. They contacted me by email having seen my page on the fabulous ‘Traditional Painter’ website and asked if I could hand paint their kitchen in a ‘light – mid’ shade to made it look more contemporary and give the room a lighter, brighter feel. Yes I said and it will be done to the...

Hand Painted Kitchen Harrogate

Hand Painted Kitchen Harrogate, North Yorkshire This hand painted kitchen project was commissioned by a couple living on the outskirts of my hometown, Harrogate. The kitchen had been installed by the previous owners and was made by Charles Yorke. The quality of this oak kitchen was undeniable but with tastes changing and the oak beginning to turn ‘orange’, the clients felt it looked dark and dated and wanted a change. To replace a kitchen with one of the same quality would have cost many 10’s of thousands of pounds, so the clients hit upon the idea of having it hand...

Hand Painted Kitchen with Paint Effect

Hand Painted Kitchen with Paint Effect Rawdon, Leeds I undertook this wonderful hand painted kitchen project in a truly unique house in Rawdon, Leeds. A converted chapel, the house retains many of its original features, from stone archways and wooden slatted ceilings, to corbels and hidden niches. The kitchen too was a one off, bespoke, handmade and pretty Gothic in design. The clients contacted me wanting to update their kitchen as the original colour was looking distinctly yellow and had also darkened with age. This was in large part to an inferior varnish having been applied originally....
