This kitchen painting project was undertaken for a couple in Dodsworth Barnsley. The kitchen was a good quality laminate one with a great new breakfast bar layout – it just looked a little tired and dated. After some initial emails and conversations I visited the house to discuss things further and have a colour consultation. The job was then booked in and the transformation awaited!

As I try to do with all my kitchen painting projects, I broke the job into 2 main parts – the painting of the shell onsite and the painting of the doors and drawers in my workshop. This process ensures minimal disruption for the client throughout the project and cuts down the time onsite by at least half.

As you can see from one of the pictures the preparatory work I do is very thorough, masking off all areas to ensure that no paint ends up where it shouldn’t. To achieve a showroom quality finish, the preparation and materials used are pivotal. For this project I thoroughly cleaned and degreased all the areas before sanding them to create a suitable key. I then applied two coats of high adhesion primer followed by two coats of a specialist topcoat paint from Finland, (sanding between coats). Each product is specifically designed for it’s task and is meticulously applied to create a beautifully smooth and durable finish. With everything completed a couple of weeks later, the client was absolutely thrilled with her ‘new’ kitchen and was kind enough to send me this lovely testimonial.
