Hand Painted Chalon Kitchen Furniture

Chalon kitchens are at the higher end of bespoke kitchen design and are renowned for their ‘free standing’ designs. This kitchen painting project was undertaken near Skipton, North Yorkshire. As part of a large remodeling project the clients had been sourcing individual pieces of Chalon kitchen furniture for over two years. All the pieces they bought were in poor condition, either having been exposed to the elements or badly re-painted. Chalon furniture has a very distinctive finish which emulates natural aging, wear and tear and to recreate or recondition this type of paint finish requires the specific skillset of a specialist painter. Having found me on the web and seen my portfolio, the clients were keen for me to undertake the work.

The colour scheme was based on contrasting, yet complimentary colours, and included ‘Hicks Blue’, for the dresser, ‘Serpentine’ for the sink dresser, plate rack and housekeeper’s cupboard, ‘Brinjal’ for the display cabinets and ‘Scree’ for the island. This project took a lot of work, but the result made all it worth all that time and preparation. The clients were extremely happy with the results, having finally realised their dream kitchen, and were kind enough to write this testimonial for me.
