This kitchen repainting project was commissioned by clients who lived in Ripon, North Yorkshire. The kitchen had been painted some years ago and because specialist kitchen paints weren’t, it was now looking tired and worn in places. I rejuvenated all the units by hand painting them using my tried and tested paint system from Finland. This system is the best on the market and can be accurately tinted to any colour. It is used by many of the top kitchen companies, is highly durable and specially designed for painting kitchens and furniture.

To get the best finish I first cleaned and lightly sanded the units before applying a coat of high adhesion primer. I find it best to always prime a pre-painted kitchen again as that way I know all the products I’m using will work with those used originally. I then applied two coats of hard wearing kitchen paint, using a combination of foam rollers and soft ‘laying off’ brushes. The finish is smooth,crisp, highly detailed, and really brought this kitchen back to life. Alongside hand painting this kitchen I also hand painted the clients dining room furniture – giving it a subtly dragged effect with silver gilt highlights.
