Specialist Kitchen Painter Harrogate

As a specialist kitchen painter working throughout Yorkshire, it’s always nice to work close to home, and this particular kitchen painting project was commissioned by a couple living on the outskirts of my hometown, Harrogate. The kitchen had been installed by the previous owners and was made by bespoke kitchen manufacturers, Charles Yorke. The quality of this oak kitchen was undeniable but with tastes changing and the oak beginning to turn ‘orange’, the clients felt it looked dark and dated and wanted a change.

To replace a kitchen with one of the same quality would have cost many 10’s of thousands of pounds, so the clients hit upon the idea of having it hand painted. With the layout being perfect and the quality already there, this was the perfect solution. After all, they would just have been replacing it with a new painted kitchen anyway.

They contacted a few kitchen painters but after I visited them for a consultation, they decided I was the man for the job. I was the most expensive of the quotes they’d received but they felt you, get what you pay for, and were confident that my lengthy prep work, advanced painting techniques and experience would ensure the best possible finish for their kitchen. I pride myself on my attention to detail during each and every part of the process. Each stage is as important as the last and there are never any short cuts.

The colour chosen was Little Greene’s ‘French Grey Dark’, which I had accurately tinted in my specialist paint from Finland. In many kitchens this colour would have looked too dark, but there was so much light in the room due to the large windows and a skylight, that the overall look still remained light. In this case, too light a colour would have just looked white and been far too stark. With the walls painted in ‘French Grey Mid’, the whole room felt lighter, brighter and much more contemporary. Achieving such a great transformation is always highly rewarding and the clients were over the moon with the results, writing; ‘The kitchen looks amazing, we love the new calm feeling it creates. A beautiful job, thank you! We are happy to be a reference if anyone wants to speak to a customer.’ Mrs Robinson
